Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Trailer

So I’m a little late with this one, which is why I’ve given you two trailers for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Don’t say I never give you anything.

This is the follow-up to the first film, Sin City, based on Frank Miller’s graphic novels. As far as plot timelines go, this seems to be intertwined with stories from the first film, so hopefully it’ll be coherent and fluid. However, with direction from Frank Miller (who also wrote the script) and Robert Rodriguez, I don’t see an issue, especially as I loved the graphic novel style employed here.

There’s a plethora of cast members, both new and returning, such as – deep breath – Bruce Willis; Jessica Alba; Rosario Dawson; Mickey Rourke; Jaime King (all returning); Eva Green; Joseph Gordon-Levitt; Josh Brolin; Ray Liotta; Jamie Chung; and Juno Temple.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be released 24th August 2014.

Horns: Teaser Poster & Trailer

HornsHere’s the first look at a teaser poster for Daniel Radcliffe’s newest venture, Horns. It’s based on the novel by Joe Hill, and from what I gather is about a man who begins to grow horns after the death of his girlfriend. It’s directed by Alexandre Aja  and includes the awesome Juno Temple (who you may know from her roles in Atonement and The Dark Knight Rises) alongside Radcliffe. Radcliffe followed up his Harry Potter career with some decent roles, such as Woman in Black and his stage productions, so I have no reason to doubt that this will be another interesting film to look forward to. Add to that Aja’s work with horror films (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors), I’d definitely make this one to see.

Horns will be out in the UK 31st October 2014.

Before I Go To Sleep: Trailer

Here’s the trailer for Before I Go To Sleep, a thriller starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong, and directed by Rowan Joffe. Based on the novel of the same name by S. J. Watson, it centres around Christine, a woman with amnesia who tries to find out who attempted to kill her and caused her amnesia. Firth plays her husband, Ben, whilst Strong co-stars as her doctor, Nash. It looks interesting, and plays on the whole concept of memory loss and trying to solve a mystery, somewhat similarly to Memento.

Before I Go To Sleep will be released in cinemas September 2014.

The Incredibles 2

The Incredibles

It’s true! Our favourite superhero family is finally – finally – getting a long-awaited sequel! Pixar confirmed this in March, however it is still early days, so a release date, possible plots and attached cast are pretty non-existant. There are several ways this could swing – we could see the family returning to their crime fighting ways, maybe five or so years after the first film ended. Perhaps we could see Violet going off to university, Dash getting his first girlfriend, Jack Jack…being Jack Jack. Either way, it’d be cool to finally have a sequel to one of my favourite Pixar films. As long as Edna Mode is still around, I’ll be a happy chappy.

Boyhood: Trailer

Richard Linklater brings us this offering, filmed over twelve years, about the life of a boy from the age of six to eighteen. Ellar Coltrane stars as Mason Jnr, with Lorelei Linklater playing his sister Samantha, and Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as his seperated parents Mason Snr and Olivia. I love the concept of creating a film as the actors age; it adds that emotional attachment rather than just using different actors. I will hopefully be seeing this at the Errol Flynn sometime soon, so a review will follow, but for now, I’ll leave you with the trailer.

Gone Girl: Trailer #2

We’ve got a second trailer for the upcoming Gone Girl, the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s book. Directed by David Fincher, and starring Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris and Rosamund Pike, it’s set to be released 3rd October 2014.
